The Raven

Resurrected from the flames (Well, actually taken down from the garage ceiling), and pressed back into service.   This past weekend, we took the raven out flying, and it flew as awesome as it did years ago when I took it out of service.  I am going to post some photos and accounts of it's flights right up until the point when it meets it's demise at the hands of gravity.  One thing you have to understand about model planes is that all relationships end the same way...in a garbage pail!  The inevitable fact of all flights is that takeoffs are voluntary, but landings are mandatory!

I can't wait until I see the photos. I always wanted a remote controled plane or helli.

You need to upload photoes to the Gallary then put in the url for the photo.

It works this way for organization and keep file sizes at a managable level.

Hey, that is pretty awesome looking.  Wish I could join you both & learn. Maybe that will be a hobby I take up when Briaunna is bit older.

I know she is a girl but I think she would love to get involved with something like that. I also remember a park around here in Omaha that people use to race those & have some kind of acrobatic shows.

Also, I read that they have training programs for the computer that you can learn the physics needed to keep them in the air or get you started anyway.

Norton,  I went and looked at RC's the other day!!!

The man at the store reccomended that I either pickup the cheapest plane possible or invest in a computer simulator.

Price was $109 for the usb controler & software. The simulator he showed me has training for both Helli & Plane.

I really like helli's but I was told that their are some real dangers involved with a helli upon first learning so I guess I gotta battle over which I prefer so it might be better if I start over the winter with computer trainer and make a decision early next summer.

Any incite?

Simulators suck...they don't do anything for you except give you a rough idea how the controllers work.  That's my opinion.  The best thing to do is join a club locally and have a member teach you via a "buddy" box.
