Hey All-

Last night my computer installed some automatic updates (Windows XP) and restarted.  This morning, I am unable to load a map in 2142.  It begins to load and somewhere near 50% it just locks my whole system.  I have since uninstalled 2142 and will re-install it later to see if this solves the problem.  If anyone else is using automatic updates, please let me know if you encounter the same problem.

I'll post again to let you know if reinstalling 2142 solves the problem

My system is being upgraded as I speak.  Items being addressed are COM / Secure Channel (TLS) / Outlook / IE7.

I seem to have the same problem but I only load about 1/8 of the map.  Can't even escape to upload resourses

 Reinstalling the game seemed to solve the problem, although I'm now getting some video flutter that I didn't have before.  I'm going to look into the issue when I get home and see exactly what was included in that last update.  I meant to do it this morning but I was playing in server one which was up and running at 7:00am EDT.

I found some information but not sure if it is the problem because it's about 2 months old but if you haven't updated since then this could be the problem because of an update that lowers the stack limit to 2048 and no error message is received (security update 917422).

If you head on over and look at Microsoft's website you'll notice this specific security update:

"After you apply security update 917422, programs that limit the application stack size to 2,048 bytes might not run. You do not receive any error message when this problem occurs."

My machine is set to check for, and install, automatic updates everyday at 3:00am.  Whatever happened to it is very recent (within the last 2 days) considering I was playing the night before last.  It seems to me that the easiest way around this issue is just to uninstall BF 2142 and reinstall it.  I took less than 30min to get back up and running (assuming you haven't deleted the 1.25 patch in EA Link).

Well I Upgraded and had no problems at all with my system loading up the Maps in 2142 battlefield. But I did notice last night that while play I lost connection twice even though my internet connection was fine.

The first time I lost it the servre went to red light from green then second time I think it crashed not sure but I noticed Redline was droped out of the very same game we were in Titn Mode I think Sue Cenal. am I right on this Redline did the thing Crash?
